Sacha Baron Cohen (im Volk bekannt als Ali G) hat einen neuen Job bei Heim Saban als Ersatzmann und Impersonator für Stefan Raab.

Kann nur bedeuten, dass sie den intellektuellen Harald Juhnke Schmidt zu den ARD-Pensionisten vertreiben wollten, damit dessen unsäglich reaktionärer Einfluss auf die deutschen Frauen und Jugendlichen neutralisiert wird?

25 Jahre von Die Krupps

Gestern im "Planet Music" mit Christian und Curt und 20 Jahre später 25 Jahre von Die Krupps gehört (und gesehen). Wahres Geld (fair) und wahre Musik (viel). Auf die Stahlrohre haben sie nicht gedroschen, mein Rücken war aber trotzdem ganz entspannt hinterher.

Die Krupps also brought nice supporting acts. UNDERGOD from Basel, which I won't write too much about because Christian will soon (this sunday I hear) be writing more, and more competently about them. Only so much: they rocked nicely. Patrik Aellig provided the occasionally necessary proof that your good bassman's pickhand is a lot more important than his chordhand and Maja "Liquid" Schwarz allthough playing a pretty mean

guitar was so kind as to personally sell us their new CD KILLOVE.

LLUTHER is a group of gifted and rather uninhibited Neun Zoll Nägel impersonators, which was alright with me, cause I like the NINs a lot and this was free of charge. They can play really well with drummer Ger Farrell and his marginal kit especially hard, fast and tricky. Before they accompanied the Krupps on their jubilee tour, they supported KMFDM in Dublin. Was ok, not necessary to say more about them until the day - which might come - they do something of their own.

Alltogether a very fine evening we had. Bought t-shirts too. And danced.

That's like chessplaying and cherrypicking. You really have to ask yourself in earnest what is the easy and what is the tuff stuff. I'll tell you one thing: Becoming a chancellor in Austria these last 20 years is one of the easier things. Jörg nearly did it. In 7/7 hindsight I'd say: wrong party, my boy. The hard thing to do is do anything and then good stuff once you are the chancellor.

Vostok Women Times Two

Das Kulturwochenende bestand aus einem Tanzabend im OST - Klub, der ja sowohl im Girlscamp als auch im Cycamp schon warm empfohlen wurde.

Am Samstagabend folgte dann die Besichtigung von Memoirs Of A Geisha.

Ich habe beides ziemlich genossen, obwohl kurz nach dem Eintreffen im OST die 1. DJ-Typin damit begann, fast eine Stunde lang untanzbares Avantgardepunkzeug aus undefinierbaren Gegenden aufzulegen und sich weigerte, unsere eh bescheiden vorgetragenen Wünsche nach Verka Serduchka und Diskoteca Avarija auch nur in Erwägung zu ziehen. Danach wurde das Personal am Mischpult gewechselt, der Alkohol hatte auch schon ein bisschen gewirkt und alles wurde sehr schön. Ausserdem waren insgesamt 5 Leute von unserer Chorreise letzten Juli in den Räumlichkeiten anwesend.

"Memoirs of a Geisha" ist ein Film mit 3 der feschesten Frauen auf dem ganzen Planeten und alleine schon deshalb eine Augenweide. Leider kann der männliche japanische Hauptdarsteller Ken Watanabe, der mit seiner Rolle in einem anderen amerikanischen Japanverstehfilm schlagartig bekannt geworden ist, ganz gut einen ehrenhaften Samuraianführer im Gespräch mit östlichen und westlichen Männern personifizieren, ist aber bei der mimischen Interaktion mit weiblichen Wesen ziemlich beschränkt. Deswegen war der Film leider diesbezüglich zu nicht mehr in der Lage, als die für Verständnis und Vergnügen eigentlich notwendige Blickeerotik lediglich irgendwie nachzustellen. In dieser Ecke (Erotik, Romantik) war man also gezwungen, besagtes Verständnis selber mitzubringen (was im Kino eigentlich nicht sein darf) und wurde auch gar nicht befriedigt (was eigentlich sein sollte, auch wenn's meistens nur die Zuschauerinnen gerne zugeben).

Auf der anderen Seite war das natürlich ein subtiler spielbergisch humanistischer Film über Mädchenhandel, die Beschränktheit, den Mangel, die Brutalität und die winzigen Glücksmomente in den heterosexuellen und v.a. auch über Konkurrenz in den innerfemininen Beziehungen im Vorkriegsjapan und - recht indirekt natürlich - Nachkriegsamerika. Nicht von ungefähr schallte aus dem Radio auch immer wieder der Name "unseres Freundes Adolf Hitler". So abgemildert halt, dass auch ein amerikanisches oder europäisches Publikum es verträgt und das Eintrittsgeld ablegt.

Großartig (wie nahezu immer) Gong Li als ewig aggressive und gespaltene Tigerin "Hatsumomo". So würde ich mich fühlen und benehmen, müsste ich eine Geisha sein. Auch gut, aber nicht ganz so tief (überhaupt ihr größtes Problem) der aufstrebende (oder wahrscheinlich schon oben angelangte) Superstar Ziyi Zhang, die seit Ang Lee's"Wo hu cang long" von einem Triumph zum andernen eilt und wie es sich für eine Chinesin gehört und Hero gezeigt hat, auch noch bescheiden bleibt. In meinen Augen einen Hauch zu fad.

Michelle Yeoh gehört schon lange zu meinen Lieblingen und ich brauche dazu nicht viel zu sagen. Schön, dass Ang Lee ihrer Karriere noch einmal einen Schubs verpasst hat. Zwar erhält sie in diesem Film eine noch größere und diesmal auch in Bezug auf Ziyi Zhang erfolgreiche pädagogische aber dafür weniger romantische Rolle, ihre herbe Süße hat sie jedenfalls in beiden Filmen behaupten können, und ich kann nix dafür, dass mir die Gong halt noch besser gefällt.

Die japanischen Damen Youki Kudoh und Kaori Momoi sind in ihren Nebenrollen alleine schon deswegen arm, weil es doch sehr krass sein muss, dass alle drei Megageishas von Chinesinnen gespielt werden. Politisch ist das natürlich ein noch deutlich härteres Zeichen als der "Führer im Radio". Entweder finden Kaori und Youki aus welchen Gründen auch immer, das Frauen/Generationen/Konkurrenz-Thema überwältigend interessant, die 3 Schönheiten vom Festland wirklich super, oder sie wollten unbedingt einmal in einem amerikanischen Film (noch dazu unter Aufsicht von Spielberg) mitwirken.

Interessanterweise bildet dann die Rollen- und Altersverteilung unter den Damen auch die westliche Wirklichkeit in den Casting-Büros und an der Kinokasse ebenso erstaunlich wie mutig ab.

Fazit: "Memoirs of a Geisha" hat deutliche Schwächen (v.a. die männlichen Darsteller), ist mit Sicherheit viel weniger romantisch als der zugrunde liegende Erfolgsroman aber trotzdem für jede Person, die entweder an der Thematik interessiert ist oder gerne all den oben erwähnten großartigen Damen beim Spielen und Tanzen zusieht, warm zu empfehlen.
