  • Quentin Tarantino will have run out of obscure and cool songs to put behind absurd kintopp sequences.
  • Moore's Law will have ended its run and finally have hit the quantum gravity barrier.
  • The Global Village will have reverted into a vast collection of states in a cold war with each other, thus cutting into the business model of Facebook.
  • The 2nd really good software after TeX will appear in public space.
  • Cars will stop to talk to their drivers.

Yeah, sure, we have ways of making these things happen.

We have grossly erred

At least in point 5. We thought, people would have come to the conclusion that permanently listening to directive voices as an adult is so unpleasing that they would put them off. Forget to take into consideration that reaching real adulthood at the apex of consumer capitalism is nearly impossible.

Don't know if Quentin T. will be doing any more movies. Judged by his own annoucement he shouldn't. But then again, you never know.

Software packages have better user interfaces, we still doubt their inner perfection though and most probably nobody than do a piece like TeX anymore. And if so, nobody (metaphor!) would use it or know it.
